Start with the basics
Specifications describe product characteristics. Look for the exact model name, dimensions, materials, power requirements and included components. Check which details come from the maker and which come from a seller.
- Dimensions and weight
- Power supply and charging
- Compatible devices and operating systems
- Included accessories and replacement parts
- Cleaning and maintenance instructions
Check units and conditions
Read units, footnotes and conditions attached to a number. Battery figures may depend on a stated operating mode. A measurement range does not by itself explain accuracy or whether a device is suitable for a particular purpose.
Keep functions separate from outcomes
A statement that a device records a measurement describes a function. A claim that it changes a health outcome is a different statement and needs appropriate supporting evidence. Do not infer a benefit from a specification alone.
General education, not medical advice or a product endorsement. Confirm product details, availability and terms with the maker or seller.
