Who runs Healthtek

Healthtek is the public-facing name of this website. It is operated independently from New Zealand and is not a registered company. For any privacy question, email info.healthtek@gmail.com or use our contact page.

Email enquiries

The site has no accounts, sign-up, newsletter or contact forms. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply to you and do not share them with anyone else, other than the email service that delivers and stores it. Our mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail), so emails you send us are processed and stored by Google under its own privacy practices, which may involve servers outside New Zealand.

Searches

Using search is optional. When you search, the words you type are used to find relevant categories and products. Depending on your search, the wording may also be processed by the services described below.

• Your wording appears in the page address, so it can be kept in your browser history and in the hosting provider's technical records of pages requested.
• Our server uses your wording to look up matching products in the database that holds the Healthtek catalogue. We do not save searches to that database.
• Every non-empty search is sent to Lovable's AI Gateway and an underlying AI model provider to place it in a Healthtek category. If a search doesn't directly match the catalogue or a known category, it is also sent a second time to be turned into search terms. Each request contains up to 300 characters of your wording plus our category list — never the product catalogue or anything else about you. Requests are sent with a setting asking the service not to store them, but we cannot confirm each provider's own logging, retention or processing location, which may be outside New Zealand.
• For some device categories, the name of the matched category (not your own wording) is sent to the U.S. FDA's public device database (openFDA) to list related official device records.

Please do not enter names, contact details or other personal or sensitive health information into search.

Compare

Products you add to Compare are saved in your own browser's local storage so your selection is kept between pages. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. Remove products or clear your browser data to delete it.

Hosting and fonts

Our hosting provider processes technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and pages requested so the site can be delivered and protected. How long the provider keeps this information is set by the provider. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers. Healthtek does not run advertising or social-media tracking pixels and does not sell personal information.

Commercial links

Healthtek currently has no affiliate or commission arrangements. Links to manufacturers or the U.S. FDA lead to outside websites governed by their own privacy practices.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you (in practice, any email correspondence), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info.healthtek@gmail.com with your request. If you are in New Zealand and are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
